Louise Hawes

Louise Hawes has been a copywriter, an advertising director, a wanabee actress, and even had her own sculpture studio. But mostly? She’s written novels, short stories, and nonfiction. She is the author of over fifteen books for children, teenagers, and adults, and she has received two New Jersey Writing Fellowships and the New Jersey Author’s Award. Her books have earned Children’s Book Council/IRA Choices and YA Book of the Year nominations. Louise have lectured at schools, colleges and universities across the US, served as John Grisham Visiting Author at the University of Mississippi, Writer in Residence at the University of New Mexico,  and is currently on the MFA faculty of the innovative Vermont College of Fine Arts.
