“Behind every bite of good food is a good story,” says Elizabeth Wiegand, author of THE OUTER BANKS COOKBOOK and THE NEW BLUE RIDGE COOKBOOK.  Each of these regional cookbooks explores the history and legends of traditional foods, like blue crabs or figs on NC’s coast or ramps and wild mushrooms in the mountains, as well as highlights the contemporary food scene with recipes from chefs, farmers, foragers, and fishermen.  A North Carolina native, she lives in Raleigh, for easy access to both the mountains and the sea.
