Dana grew up in Virginia but has also lived in Alaska, Georgia, and now, North Carolina. She’s been writing since she was 15 and developed her interest further at Virginia Commonwealth University where she majored in English. After careers as an alcoholism counselor and librarian, she re-kindled her love of poetry. She has studied with Florence Nash and Peter Makuck, and her first chapbook, Stepping Stones, was published fall of 2014. Currently, she’s working on another chapbook to honor Durham’s American Dance Festival.
