A workshop for people interested in children’s writing and publishing.
This workshop is about the experience of publishing the extraordinary children’s books in the Alazar Press catalog. The topics will include selecting books to publish, relationships with authors and illustrators, and working with book production partners and distributors. The presenters will also show and discuss specific books with samples of books becoming books. They will share video and photos of working in collaboration with authors and illustrators. Techniques for successful sharing of books with children will also be demonstrated.
Summer Kinard, author of Creative Writing for Kids, will use hands-on learning exercises to help teach kids creative writing in a workshop format. The workshop aims to get children engaged, overcome their shyness or nerves, and actually start writing in the course of one workshop. For children 8 – 11 years old.
Because of the hands-on aspect of this workshop, spaces are limited to 20 children. Register today to reserve your spot!
